While at M3, Jon has advised clients across the energy, retail and real estate industries in a variety of restructuring roles, and was integrally involved with the restructuring of Sears Holding Corp. and Sanchez Energy Corporation.

Prior to joining M3, Jon served as a principal investor at Blackrock and at First Reserve, a private equity firm focused exclusively on the energy sector, with $31 billion of capital raised since inception. His responsibilities as a private equity investor included investment origination and structuring, execution, due diligence, and the monitoring of portfolio companies. Jon’s investment focus was on the energy infrastructure sector, where he evaluated and executed investments across the conventional and renewable power, utility, midstream, shipping, and offshore energy sub-sectors. In addition to his involvement in all aspects of the investment process, Jon worked with existing portfolio companies to drive operational and financial improvements and evaluate strategic alternatives. He began his career as an investment banking analyst in the natural resources group at Deutsche Bank, where he advised energy, power and utility companies and financial sponsors in M&A and capital raising activities.

Jon earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University Wisconsin-Madison.
