Senior Director
Mary A. Korycki is a Senior Director at M3 Partners. With more than 20 years advisory experience, Mary focuses on in- and out-of-court restructurings, and has advised underperforming and distressed companies across a broad range of industries. Mary has also developed a specialty working with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies.
While at M3, Mary advised Sears Holdings Corporation and its affiliated debtors in one of the largest and fastest-moving retail chapter 11 cases in history, leading multiple workstreams. Other recent assignments include advising on bankruptcy reporting matters in iconic luxury retailer Barneys and its affiliates’ chapter 11; serving as an advisor in the chapter 11 proceedings and ultimate sale of Relativity Media, and advising a distressed middle market healthcare distribution company and its lenders.
Prior to joining M3, Mary served as a Director at Loughlin Management Partners (“LMP”). During her tenure, Mary advised the lenders for global aviation services provider, Erickson Incorporated, surrounding its chapter 11 proceedings, she advised a middle market budget rental car company through an out-of-court process, and she also served as interim Director of Accounting for a middle market manufacturer and distributer of paper products.
While at LMP, Mary also advised private equity firms on strategies including merger integration, helping sponsors create a leading middle-market developer and distributor of clinical professional skincare products and a national leader in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
Previously, Mary worked at Alvarez & Marsal where she advised companies with assets ranging from $250 million to $600 billion, including Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. and its affiliates’ chapter 11 filing, the largest chapter 11 in history; a $10 billion aluminum producer and recycling company; and a $14 billion multifamily and commercial real estate company. Other notable chapter 11 engagements include: The Warnaco Group, Second Chance Body Armor, Pillowtex Corporation and Archibald Candy Corporation.
Mary earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Scranton. She is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor and Certified Turnaround Professional. Mary is currently a member and on the Academic Committee and Nominations Committee of the Turnaround Management Association’s New York City Chapter, and she is also a member of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation and the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors.
