Marty Young is a nationally recognized expert in corporate restructuring, turnaround, and performance improvement, with over 25 years of financial and operational experience across more than 100 special situation investments. As a seasoned executive, he has successfully served as CEO, CRO, CFO, COO, CAO, and other senior management roles, stabilizing operations, enhancing cash flow, executing business plans, and maximizing enterprise value across diverse industries. His CRO work has earned accolades from the Turnaround Management Association, Turnaround and Workouts, and the Global M&A Network, including recognition as one of the Top 100 Restructuring Professionals.
Marty is a trusted financial advisor to major investor groups, including banks, BDCs, CLOs, hedge funds, private equity, and special situation funds. He has executed over $40 billion in debt and equity transactions, both in and out of court. His industry expertise spans aerospace/defense, automotive, broadcasting, building suppliers, business services, consumer products, financial services, insurance, manufacturing, oil field services, print media, rental car/lease equipment, retail, technology, telecommunications, and textiles. Notably, he is the leading expert in government contractor restructurings, having completed over 40 such engagements.
Additionally, Marty co-founded and served as CEO of Buckle, a full-stack insurance company that integrated advanced technologies and data into underwriting, product development, distribution, and customer care for the shared economy. As COO/CFO of Noragh Analytics, he led its corporate carve-out from Boeing, culminating in its acquisition by Ankura Consulting Group. He also served on the Advisory Board of the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. Through these and other experiences, he has deep knowledge of the data sciences, including AI/ML.
A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Marty served as an Officer in the U.S. Army Infantry. He holds an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and an MS in Operations Research from Georgia Tech. He is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) and actively participates in the Turnaround Management Association and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors.
