Managing Director
Matt Manning is a CPA (inactive) with more than 18 years of experience advising corporate and financial clients in operational and financial matters. Matt is an experienced investor, with a strong background in capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, accounting and financial operations.
Since joining M3, representative restructuring transactions include: Bertucci’s; Craftworks Holdings; Fusion Connect (NASDAQ: FSNN); Houlihan’s Restaurants Inc.; J.Jill Inc. (NYSE: JILL) Mallinckrodt plc (NYSE: MNK); Real Alloy; Remington Outdoor Company and Seadrill Partners (NYSE: SDLP), among others.
Prior to joining M3, Matt acted as interim CFO of a middle market European-based technology company focused on OTT video solutions. Matt served as a key member of the senior management team, helping to set the strategic direction of the business and monitor financial and operating performance. In this role, Matt helped to drive process improvements in cash flow management and budgeting, as well as assisted in identifying and executing cost savings to streamline internal operations.
Additionally, Matt has previously served as a research analyst at JEC Capital where he sourced and evaluated equity and credit investment opportunities across public and private entities.
Prior to JEC, Matt was at Morgan Stanley, where he worked in both the distressed debt group, investing the firm’s capital in credit-focused special situations, as well as in the media and telecommunications investment banking group, providing strategic capital raising and mergers and acquisitions advice to corporates and financial sponsors. Within the distressed debt group Matt was responsible for identifying, evaluating and managing event-driven, non-control investment opportunities across the capital structure.
Matt began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the firm’s audit practice before working in the Transaction Services group performing detailed financial due diligence for both financial and strategic buyers.
Matt earned a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from Boston College and his MBA from Columbia Business School.
